Well I guess all good things eventually come to an end. There’s no ill will in my heart but it still hurts. I guess its good that I’ve got being broken up with pretty much down to a science now, since its always me that it happens to. Sometimes its hard to look in the mirror without wondering what makes me so unlovable, even with a pretty new red dress on.

I cant even count how many times I’ve burst into tears this weekend. I am on edge emotionally...

I cant even count how many times I’ve burst into tears this weekend. I am on edge emotionally and the last couple of days didn’t do much to help it: fighting with my roommate over stupid stuff again, and confusing bits of relationships, tons of homework and photos to take. I feel bewildered and insecure.

Things are awesome and my room currently smells like gardenias. mm

So I realized I haven’t had a decent update in a while. Two weeks ago my American Advertising Federation National Student Competition (whew that’s long) went to ORLANDO(!!!) to compete in the nationals. WE GOT SECOND PLACE. One of the judges came up to our team after the announcements and shook our hands and told us if it were up to him, we would have won. We literally got second by .7 of a point. Its so close it kills me! Whatever though, the team that did win was from Chapman University and they had a great idea and I feel they deserved to win just as much as we did.

So the whole team got to stay a few extra days in Orlando to check out Disney World, which was really cool. It was a long day for sure though, we spent 12 hours there riding everything we possibly could. Some drama with the team went down that last night that I tried my best to avoid, I was just too exhausted to care about anything. We left on a Sunday (arriving in Orlando on Wednesday) and the three girls I was with and I got laid over for several hours in the airport, which was pretty miserable when all you want to do is go lay in your own bed.

The weekend after the Orlando trip my friends Melissa and Brianne insisted I come back to Houston for the weekend to party. I resisted the idea at first since I was (and am still) completely broke but they said they wanted me down there so much they’d pay for it all. The idea of living off their dime wasn’t ideal, but what can you do? It was fun though, we stayed by the Galleria downtown in very nice hotel and went clubbing.

Now I’m home just taking three hours of summer courses (in Art direction) and some how, keeping busy. Other than that, my roommate got a cat a while back so now mine and her’s are a little rag-tag team that’s main goals are world domination and the destruction of our apartment. Its pretty funny to watch though.

You just out-shined the competition and that is saying a lot because the other two candidates were so talented.”

Got the job as the assistant for the Event Coordinator on campus. Its going to be a fun job I think.

I wish I had a video camera so everyone could witness the insanity that is my cat. She sucks on my fingers, carries anything that’s the size of chapstick around in her mouth, and is currently hopping around my room and attacking the guitars sitting in the corner. She also enjoys hiding under things in my apartment and when my roommate or I walk by she hops out. She cracks me up.

I’m in Houston until Wednesday. I’m not terribly happy about it. Although I get to see a few of the people I miss throughout the year and spend some time with my family, Houston just kind of sucks in comparison. I want to be back in sunny San Marcos laying out by the pool with my boyfriend and friends drinking beer and not worrying about a damn thing. Of course being back in San Marcos is not entirely worry free, I’m broke until the beginning of June, and being so leaves me no other option than to be a river/pool rat. Not to mention I’ve developed (rather conveniently, jk) a cough right before coming home. Now this shouldn’t be an issue, but it seems every time I do come home now I have a cough which has put the idea into my father’s head that I have tuberculosis. Its ridiculous because I’m a smoker but I’m not about to admit that to him just yet. Anyway, I’m just going to try and kill as much time in Houston as possible by hanging out with old friends and pray that Wednesday gets here in a hurry.

Wednesday my AAF team headed out to Amarillo, Texas for the district competition. While we were there we met some of the rudest people in existence, but nonetheless we won! We’re heading to nationals in Orlando sometime in June!
