Tomorrow I go to the Austin Advertising Federation’s Addy’s which are being held in Austin’s old power plant. They are basically like the Grammy’s for advertising, its just a huge award show with lots of big wigs (Austin has become a huge hub for the advertising industry, its second to New York I believe) from the industry and there’s a whole student competition section.  I didn’t enter it this year (mostly because I don’t feel like I have anything worth entering yet) but several Texas State students won! And of course I cant miss cocktail hour.

We have three weeks for our AAF team to finish creating our campaign and start getting everything finalized.  Basically by spring break we need to be finishing our plans book that has our creative strategy and situation analysis, etc. in it.  I think tonight our creative group made some small amount of headway, which we will be presenting to the rest of the team next week. I really hope we win mostly because the national competition is happening in Orlando this year and I’ve never been. Besides, AAF is paying for room and travel so it’d be an almost free semi-vacation.
